I am an elite off-road triathlete based in Durham, NC. I grew up in Iowa dividing my time between competitive swimming and exploring the rural countryside on my dad’s road bike. I entered a few triathlons after graduating from high school and won the XTERRA U-20 national championship later that fall while attending Duke University. While at Duke, I earned degrees in math and physics and Masters degree in teaching. To round out my work as an educator, I started serious training to become an elite triathlete in 2012. I was named the 2013 XTERRA amateur performer of the year, finished 9th in the XTERRA US Pro Series in 2014, and improved to 4th overall in the US Pro series in 2015.
