Rocky Knob might be the most progressive bike park in NC. There is something to challenge and thrill riders of all skill levels.
For any mountain biker in or passing through the Boone, NC area, Rocky Knob Bike Park is a can’t miss experience.
This relatively new trail system has fantastic facilities, trail signage, trail descriptions, guidance for skill progression.
The rocky trails carved on the steep hill slopes drain well and dish plenty of adrenaline when the incline points downwards.
A great deal of thought went into building the 8-mile trail network. Around every corner there are multiple line options for riders of all skill levels. As seen here, you can pump straight over the rocks or go wide around the corner.
First time riders will appreciate the “you are here” maps at the trail junctions.
You almost feel transported to a rainforest while riding on portions of the lower slopes.
On the more advanced upper trails of the upper slopes, there’s an adventure around every corner.
Getting to the top of the hill can be a slog, but it’s well worth it. The downhill rides like one long, action-packed enduro stage.
The progressive skill sections are also a blast, something you don’t find to this extent at most trail systems.
The park also features the coolest playground I’ve ever seen. I hope they’ll make an adult sized one.
The play area also features a beautiful picnic area and flush toilets, making the park quite family friendly.
Try it out and let me know what you think.
